Ames-based Summit gets a pipeline permit in North Dakota and has one from Iowa. It still needs permits from South Dakota and Minnesota

Utility regulators in North Dakota have approved part of a carbon dioxide pipeline that would span five Midwestern states.

North Dakota regulators on Friday approved a route permit for the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline, a significant win for what the company says is the world’s largest carbon capture project. The three-person Public Service Commission voted unanimously to approve the pipeline permit.
